Prensky (2001) has indicated that our students have changed fundamentally and radically. To success in academic endeavors, it is necessary for students to feel connected and experience a sense of belonging (Mahoney, 2006). Students may enjoy developing friendly relationships and trust with others when their thoughts and opinions are listened and being respected (Kinchin, 2004). This study has attempted to explore whether building of “comfortable” social friendship environment via Facebook between lecturers and students may have impacts or influences on students’ engagement and attention for studying marketing research which has been perceived as boring and challenging subject.
