Abstract

This study aims at comparing facilitative effects of two types of computerized Graphic Organizers (GOs) in EFL expository reading, and investigating relevant trainings’ influence on students’ reading strategy. The two types of GOs are Concept Mapping & Graphic Organizer representing text structure. Students enrolled in the study are divided into three groups: two experiment groups receive trainings of Concept Mapping and GO representing text structure separately, and control group receives summary training. The pilot experiment on 20 students indicated that no significant difference was found between two types of Graphic Organizers trainings, which were more effective than summary training.
