The policy on gifted education for schools in Hong Kong was first recommended by the Education Commission in its Report No. 4 (1990). The overarching aims of this paper are to share our experience of planning a humanities unit “My Jurassic Park” with reference to the Spherical Integrated Model for Gifted and Talented (SIMGT) (Lam and Wan, 2011). The paper unfolds Grade 5 students’ learning experiences and perceptions in the unit where ICT tools are used for enrichment tasks in order to cater for diverse needs of gifted students in a local Hong Kong Direct Subsidy Scheme (DSS) school.
